Of Note:
Takeaways from NYCxDesign…
French furniture House, Pierre Augustin Rose is officially in New York. Their gallery opening at 224 Centre Street debuted during NYCxDesign. It is the first time the brand is expanding beyond France and in doing so, PAR has taken space in the historic Odd Fellows Hall- once the studio of Mario Sorrenti.
British designer Faye Toogood debuted her collection of hand-painted, sculptural paper lights at TIWA Gallery. I particularly found the curled, wrought iron legs a refreshing take. You can still view the collection by appointment until June 21st at 86 Walker Street.
In Common With debuted Strata- their latest, bolder lighting collection. Mira and Ecco Surface Mounts are our studio’s favorites.
The Semiotics of Dressing is currently on view at Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery and definitely worth a visit. The space explores the intricacies and intrigue of a dressing room, through contemporary artists’ adornments, objects & furniture. It can viewed at 52 Walker Street until July 12th.
In the land of textiles…
Svenskt Tenn recently launched a variety of lampshades now covered in their Trad I Blom print. I’ve been eyeing this print for some time, not sure in what context I wanted to use it. I think as an accent lampshade it is just perfect.
Speaking of Svenskt Tenn, I’ve had this fabric saved for a while ever since seeing archival photos of Svenskt Tenn Founder Estrid Ericson’s living room, in particular, the Liljevalchs sofa that looks like the epitome of comfort. The fabric is by Gp & J Baker and originally designed by renowned textile artist William Turner in 1920. They’ve since committed to reimagining the print, though you can find original, vintage versions (my recommendation) secondhand on sites like Chairish.
Claremont’s Tree of Life Fabric is also high on the saved list. I saw this fabric covering a sofa in one of the most charming apartments I’ve ever seen in New York, featured by House & Garden. In context, the fabric is warm and inviting, with a semblance of old world, while not quite feeling too old. For a low lift way to integrate this fabric into your home, you can find featured pillow covers, in different forms, on Etsy.
My go to for silk fabric is James Hare, a leading English Textile House since 1865. Their silk is so incredibly beautiful, offered in the most abundant array of color options and is priced very reasonably. We recently made these custom silk accent pillows (James Hare Orissa Silk in Terracotta) in the workroom of our Studio.

Recent Purchases:
A custom framed Joan Miro lithograph from auction. It seems that the previous owner had this frame custom-made to mirror the artistic details of the Miro lithograph.
A bunch of Pottery Barn picture frames on sale: Burlwood Gallery Art Frame, Bamboo Frame, White Enamel Frame, Grayson Silver Frame.
Wooden Mechanical Pencil from Front General Store in Dumbo. This store is close to our Studio and we always pop in to purchase these mechanical pencils (especially the plump ones!).
